A lab which contains master plans to the most mysterious, overpowering inventions that can revolutionize the blueprint of human civilization. It is here that atoms are altered, energy is expanded, nuclear chemicals are the constituents of basic experiments and Monkey, the guinea pig.
And then there is a tall skinny girl with two ponytails frolicking around on her happy-go-lucky, ballet feet, who pulls a plug and the lab is exhausted.
This is Dexter’s Laboratory.
Where imagination is on neat whiskey and inventions are the yawns and lullabies of every day. Where machines and technology bow to the black boots and the bold bifocals. And where “The Computer” is Dexter’s best friend.
This is the world where bizarre, happy endings is what every child wants and gets. Pipe dreams become permanent and delusions, doable. Anger, revenge, fun, creativity all come together and boil into a cauldron that phoofs into a brilliant experiment!
The sun smiles and the clouds cuddle. The monsters have cute eyes and scary hair. The mom walks on her toes and dad with his eyes closed. And no one knows that the inside this pretty house is a lab that a genius resides. Every inanimate object has an expression and animals and trees and the wind all have a role to play.
It’s a classic and it always will be. Because this is a world where little boys imagine what their lab would look like once they grow up and little naughty girls get ideas on how to be a little more naughty. And this is a world where everything, no matter how catastrophic, is swell at the end. And that is all that matters.
